Marcos was called to the Law Society of Ontario in 2011 and the Barreau du Québec in 2010. Prior to joining Isaacs & Co., Marcos worked as a transportation and customs lawyer in boutique transportation law firms in Montréal and Toronto where he gained extensive experience appearing in courts and regulatory tribunals. Marcos also has experience working in the customs & international trade group of one of the Big 4 professional services firms where he consulted on customs appeals, tariff classification, value for duty, and origin of goods classifications.

Marcos holds civil law and common law degrees from the Université de Montréal, a Certificate in Marine Transportation from a joint program of the Shipping Federation of Canada and Concordia University, a Certified Trade Compliance Specialist designation from the Canadian Society of Customs Brokers (CSCB), an accreditation as an Export Compliance Professional from the Export Compliance Training Institute (ECTI), and a Masters of Law (LL.M)  in principles of international taxation from the University of Toronto.

Marcos studied law in three different languages, attending universities in Montréal, Toronto and Guanajuato, Mexico. He is fluent in French and Spanish and has basic conversational skills in Mandarin.

When not in the office, Marcos enjoys adding controls to his flight simulator, servicing his car, and listening to aviation/military podcasts.
