OUR FIRM: PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE

Recognized as one of Canada’s leading litigation firms, Isaacs & Co. represents clients from across the spectrum of industries, including insurance, transportation and hospitality.

The firm was founded in 1993 by the current Chief Justice of Ontario, George Strathy, who was then one of the preeminent leaders of the maritime law bar. Marc Isaacs joined Mr. Strathy in 2003, the same year that Mr. Strathy published the book, The Law and Practice of Marine Insurance in Canada. Marc became a partner in the firm in 2006 and took over as principal in 2007, following Justice Strathy’s appointment to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. In 2014, Miriam Tepperman and Arie Odinocki joined the partnership. In 2016, Heather Devine was welcomed to the partnership. Today, the firm has four partners and as many associates.

The firm has developed extensive experience in insurance law and litigation. We represent clients in all types of cases, including the defence of bodily injury claims, complex product liability, property damage matters, professional errors and omissions claims and hotel liability claims. We also have a large insurance coverage and general commercial litigation practices. True to its roots, the firm remains Canada’s preeminent marine and transportation practice, involved in precedent setting cases.
